Membership
Our membership provides the backbone of support for our Museum's operations. In an era when government grants to organizations such as ours are diminishing, the role our members play is of paramount importance. We are most appreciative for the contributions our over 1,000 members make, financial and otherwise. Please join us in our effort to preserve, research and interpret the artifacts and stories relating to Virginia's menhaden fisheries and other maritime activities of the lower Chesapeake Bay region. Individual and corporate memberships are available.
Levels of Membership Individual Family Student All members enjoy free admission to the museum, use of library and archives (by appointment), free passes on the Elva C. cruises and pound net cruises, and discount on Claud W. Somers cruises, advance notice on exhibits and programs, and the quarterly Starry Banner newsletter.
Additional benefits at a higher level:• Sustaining –- 2 free guest admissions, 2 half-price Somers cruise passes, free admission to museums belonging to the Council of American Maritime Museums (CAMM) - Link.
• Patron –- 2 free Somers cruises, 4 free admission passes for guests, and free admission to museums belonging to CAMM.
