Reedville Independence Day  

 

 

Come on down to Reedville, Virginia for some good old fashioned fun at the Reedville Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 5th.   Considered to be one of the grandest Independence Day celebrations on the Northern Neck, Reedville's Main Street comes alive with a day full of activities and fun for the whole family.

The festivities kicks off with the Firecracker 5K Race and continues on with lots of activities for kids and adults, including the Kid's Pie Eating Contest and a Patriotic Sing-Along, Reedville's famous Independence Day Parade and ends with our Fireworks Extravaganza and Dance!    Throughout the day the Reedville Fishermen's Museum, Bethany United Methodist Church and Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department will host activities for children and families, the Artist's Arena Craft Fair, as well as food, food, and more food!!!   Also, be sure not to miss the Independence Day Boat Show at the RFM Pier on Cockrell's Creek.

Plus, Reedville's historic homes along Main Street come alive with a fantastic display of patriotic and festive decorations. So come on down and celebrate with us on July 5th! We look forward to seeing you.

New this year will be at Dance hosted by the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department after the Fireworks.

Events Schedule

FRIDAY
 

9 to Noon and 5 to 8 pm Registration for the Firecracker 5K at the Festival Halle on Main Street.

SATURDAY

7 to 7:30 am
Registration for Firecracker 5K at the start/finish line.

8 am Race begins

Reedville Fishermen's Museum
Open  10:30 to 2:30
An Information Booth will be available near the Butler House with info concerning all the day's events.

Small Boat Show at the RFM Pier - all day long
Boats will be on diplay in the water at the RFM's pier and also behind the Boat Shop Building.

Artist’s Arena Craft Fair    10 am    4 pm
On the Bethany United Methodist Church campus

Fire Truck Hose-Down     12:30  behind the Berthany Parsonage

Make-A-Boat  • 12:00-1:30 behind the RFM Pavillion.
Kids assemble and decorate a little boat which they can sail and take home with them. Most appropriate for kids up to 8 years old 

Kids Pie Eating Contest 1:00 pm  behind the Butler House

Tattoos / Face Painting

Fireworks Extravaganza 
  9 pm    At the End of Main Street

Dance at the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department after the Fireworks. 
A DeeJay will be present and beer will be available. Admission $5.
