Elva C

The 55' pound netting boat " Elva C " was built in 1922 by Gilbert White near Windmill Point.  She has been restored by the Reedville Marine Railway  and local volunteers,  and is currently moored at the Museum dock as part of our permanent collection. In 2005 the Elva C was selected for placement in the Virginia Historic Landmark Register and the National Register of Historic Places.

The Elva C makes educational cruises several times a year.

She also brings Santa Claus to our
Christmas at Cockrell's Creek
celebration.

Climb aboard the Elva C for a narrated tour of Cockrell’s Creek on selected evenings. These cruises are normally scheduled to begin in June, weather permitting. Cruises start at 4:30 pm and return about 60 minutes later so Friday passengers can attend Cocktails on the Creek.

2012  Elva C

Creek Cruises

4:30 – 5:30 pm

Check back in May 2012

Please note that we are limited to 20 people per cruise. Passengers must make reservations with the RFM office four days ahead of the trip, giving the number in their party and a phone number where they can be reached if the trip has to be cancelled at the last moment because of an impending storm. Children must be at least 6 years of age and bring their own life jackets.

Pound net cruises will begin in June, but the day and time cannot be decided more than a day or so ahead of the trip because of the inability to forecast relatively calm weather earlier than that.  These trips generally depart at 5:30 PM and return between 8 and 8:30. Persons who wish to be notified of an upcoming trip need to send their email address to spudparker@gmail.com. Children must be 6 years of age and bring their own life jackets.
