RFM Annual Meeting

January 16, 2017

Dear RFM Members:

This notice serves as official notification of the GRA/RFM Annual Meeting scheduled for Sunday, February 26, 2017 at 3:00 pm.  The meeting will be held at Festival Halle, 177 Main Street, Reedville Virginia.

The agenda will include remarks by the President, the Treasurer’s Report, and a vision statement by our new Director, Lee Langston-Harrison.  We will then conduct the election of new members to the Board of Directors, whose three-year terms will commence in March, 2017. The slate of nominees is as follows:  Becky Haynie, Dr. Edward (Jim) Wiley and Jim Schaffer.

In order to successfully transact the business of the day, including the election of new members to the Board of Directors, our by-laws do require, in Article II, paragraph 5, that at least 1/20th of our 745 members (i.e., 37.25 members based on membership rolls as of this date) are present to vote or vote by proxy.  Thus, your participation is very important.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, please mail in your completed proxy form in advance or send it in a sealed envelope with someone who will be attending the meeting.  Each membership in good standing is entitled to one vote.

The Annual Meeting is an opportunity to review the Museum’s achievements as well as the challenges facing us.  I would like to use this opportunity to expand our traditional post meeting coffee to an informal reception to meet and greet Lee, our new Director.  Please join us to welcome our new Director and to celebrate another good year for the Museum.  In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to call the Museum at 804-453-6529.

William Brent, President

GRA/RFM Board of Directors
