Volunteers are Needed!

The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum could not function without our dedicated volunteers. They form the backbone of nearly every aspect of our operations. Volunteers are needed in many areas to provide meaningful and valuable services within those areas, as well as to contribute ideas to the museum.

How can you help?

Become A Docent!

This is perhaps the foremost area of volunteerism available to our members. Our docents serve by assisting visitors touring the museum, providing information on our facilities and exhibits. Duties include running the menhaden video, guiding visitors through the Walker House, Model Shop and Boat Shop, and serving in our Gift Shop. Special expertise is not a prerequisite; information is readily available and updated through periodic training sessions. Docents normally are scheduled for periods of no more than three hours per month. Our docents are the face of the museum to the public and are an integral part of the museum’s continuing success.
