The “Adventure” begins….
Family Boat Building Adventure 2017
The Reedville Fishermen’s Museum is once again hosting their annual Family Boat Building Weekend. Your craft, a 9’6” rowing skiff, is built from a kit with hand tools and basic wooden boat building techniques that have been in use for generations on the Chesapeake Bay. The boat is completed and ready for painting at the end of the 2 ½ day adventure. Experienced and dedicated instructors from the Museum’s Boat Shop have created the kit and will be on hand to guide your team through-out the weekend
This is a great opportunity to spend time with your family in the quiet rhythms of hand tools and ripples from the nearby creek. When you leave on Sunday, you’ll have memories of fun, knowledge of basic skills and a nice little boat as a result of your labors and laughter
This year’s Family Boat Building Weekend is from Friday June 23 to Sunday, June 25th. Friday and Saturday the hours are 8:30 to 4:30 and Sunday is a half day. Space is limited to ten teams and each team is open to family members age nine years old and older. Hamburgers and Hot Dogs will be provided on Saturday
Please contact the Museum Office at 804.453.6529 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to reserve your skiff. Be sure to visit the RFM website: rfmuseum.org to explore the Museum’s other activities and events
